Don't Just Watch AI in Action — Build With It

The Festival of AI Hackathon — only with a Workshop Ticket.

Workshop Ticket holders get more than two days of talks and ideas — they get a hands-on half-day hackathon session on Day 1, where you actually build something using AI, guided, in a small group, before you head into the rest of the festival.

Why This Exists

Festival of AI is about ideas, inspiration and where AI is heading. The Hackathon is where you stop reading about it and start doing it.

In a focused half-day on Day 1, before the main talks get going, you'll work in a small group to actually build something real using AI tools — no coding experience required, no fluff, just hands-on progress you can walk away with (and show off at the festival for the rest of the two days).

What You'll Get With the Workshop Ticket

Full two-day Festival of AI access

Everything the standard experience includes, both days, 15–16 October.

A guided, structured hackathon half-day

Not an unstructured "good luck" session. You'll be working towards a real output by the time it ends.

A small group

Kept intentionally small, so you get real support, not lost in a crowd.

A team to build with

Meet collaborators, not just spectators.

A practical head start

Walk into the rest of Day 1 already thinking hands-on, not just theoretical.

Bragging rights

Show what you built at the festival's networking reception.

Pick Your Hackathon Session

Two hackathon sessions run on 15 October, both hosted by Matthew Hughes. Your Workshop Ticket includes one of the two — choose whichever fits around the rest of your day.

Morning Session

09:00–12:30

Hosted by Matthew Hughes

Get your hands-on building done first, then head into the rest of Day 1's talks and the afternoon programme.

Afternoon Session

13:00–16:30

Hosted by Matthew Hughes

Catch the morning of talks, then switch into build mode for the afternoon.

Both sessions cover the same format and outcomes, so you only need one. A Workshop Ticket admits you to a single hackathon session, not both.

Who This Is For

  • Small business owners and creators who keep meaning to "actually try" AI tools properly
  • Teams who want a practical, collaborative session rather than another talk
  • Anyone who learns better by doing than by watching slides
  • Workshop Ticket holders who want the hands-on element alongside the talks

No coding background needed. Bring a laptop and curiosity.
